Angry Woman Torches Wayward Husband

Phnom Penh: A woman who was angry with her husband, who often takes money to drink, smoke drugs and beats her took some gasoline in a bottle on June 9, 2019 at 10:20 pm and set him on fire.

The incident occurred at the Borey Peng Huoth construction site in Prek Tlung village, Cheung Ek commune.

Police say that the victim, Virak Virak, 29, has been involved inhad been doing construction work at Borey Peng Huoth Construction Site, Prek Tleng Meang Village, Cheung Ek Commune, Dangkor District, Phnom Penh.

The suspect, Ron Sophea, a 19-year-old also worked on the site.

Police say that on June 9, 2019, at 10:20 pm, the victim sat drinking with other construction laborers.

The suspect, Ron Sophea drained approximately 250 milliliters of gasoline from a motorcycle and approached the drunken victim.

The suspect threw the gasoline on the victims legs and it ignited. The victim jumped over the yard and nearby people used water to extinguish the fire.

Police forces went to the scene immediately took the victim to Calmette Hospital. They then detained the suspect.

After questioning, the suspect confessed that she had committed the crime out of anger.

The victim, who suffered serious burns over his body, filed a compliant so that the police could take legal action.
