Phnom Penh: Preliminary reports indicate the city’s economic police force identified a truck smuggling wildlife on the afternoon of June 3, along Veng Sreng Road.
The cargo was intended for Takeo province, from where it was to be transported to Vietnam. The haul of lizards, snakes and tortoises had a combined weight about 600 kg.
The driver, named Chheang Reth, a 58-year-old male is being questioned by authorities.
