“My Mother Sold Me” Producer Back in Court

 

Phnom Penh: The Court of First Instance on the afternoon of May 30 raised the case for Mr. Rath Rott Mony , the producer of controversial film “My Mother Sold Me”, made for Russia Today TV. The court heard from both the judge and deputy prosecutor.

The charges are for allegedly inciting discrimination under Article 496 of the Penal Code, committed on October 15.

Rath Rott Mony, 47, was detained on December 13, 2018 after he was deported from Thailandand sent to Prey Sar.

During the hearing, the accused refused to accept the allegations, claiming that he was only an interpreter for the film crew.

The hearing was postponed until June 13.
