Family Killed in Kampong Thom Lightning Strike

ompong Thom Province: Two parents and their child were killed by lightning strikes. The father, 28, the 27-year-old mother and 3 year old son were a family living in Cheam Flaing village, Chheu Teal, Sandan district, Kompong Thom province.

According to a source from the village, the commune chief told police that before the incident, three victims went to plant cassava in the field on May 23. They took shelter under a mango tree during a rain storm and were hit by lightning, killing them all instantly. The bodies were only discovered 2 days later.

After receiving information from the people, police forces and police stations as well as local authorities went to the scene to check the bodies and concluded all 3 were killed by lightning.
