Strange Fruit! Farmer Keeps Mortars in Palm Tree

Kampong Thom: According to CMAC director Heng Ratana, a farmer in Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom found a stash of old mortar rounds while going about his business. Afraid that local kids might play with them, the farmer stuck them up a tree to keep them out of harm’s way.

However, this wasn’t the best course of action, and very dangerous. The farmer was advised about the dangers of UXO’s and CMAC along with the local police disposed of the explosives safely.
