Malaysian-Khmer Wedding Stopped in Kampong Speu

Kampong Speu: A wedding ceremony between a Cambodian and a foreign male was held in Borseth district, Kampong Speu province, on May 10, 2019, at 2 pm. Authorities went to the scene and closed down the party, as it was a violation of the Royal Cambodian Law.
 
The official said that the foreigner was GOH HOCK LKE, 51, Malaysian living in Phnom Penh.

According to the articles on marriage without permission, with Sar Saroeun, female, 27, from Por Thom Village, Por Senchey district, Bor Seth district, Kampong Speu province, was stopped under rules 4-5-6 of the Immigration Law and Regulations.

If marriage is to be granted by law, Article 6 of the following laws and regulations on immigration have to be completed: – marriage application, passport, police certificate of foreigner, entry visa, single certificate or widow issued by the country of the foreigner and health certificate. The foreigner must also prove they have funds to support the wife.

    Reason number 3,487 not to get married in Cambodia. Who ever started the rumour about cambodia being a relaxed place was out of their minds.
