Pre-Angkorian Statue Found in Kampong Speu

Kompong Speu Province: On May 9, 2019, Mr. Chim Vuthy, the Governor of the District Governing Council, together with officials, checked a statue found in Kraing Leng village, Chungruk commune, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province, on May 8, 2019.

According to Mr. Sun Mean Chey, Director of Culture and Fine Arts of Kompong Speu, this is a statue of a goddess carved before the Angkorian era, 1.03 meters high and 0.31 meters wide and weighing 30 kilograms.

At the request of the authorities and the people who found the statue above, he agreed to give the statue to Kompong Speu Provincial Department to take care of.
