Teacher Shot Dead in Kampong Speu School

Kompong Speu: A sports teacher was shot dead while eating lunch at about 1 pm on May 8, 2019 at the Orchid School in Oral District.

The gunman was a 30-year-old from Banteay Meanchey.

According to the source, before the incident, the victim had completed a sports lesson and sat down with the other teachers to eat rice.

A lone gunmen approached pointed the pistol at the victim and shot him dead in front of the other staff and students.

The gunmen then tried to escape, but the police quickly arrested him and took him to the provincial police station for interrogation.

The motive was jealousy after the victim had had an affair with the gunman’s wife. The victim recently posted pictures of himself with the wife on Facebook when the suspect was in Banteay Meanchey. The suspect saw them and decided to buy a gun and shoot the teacher.
