UPDATE: Chinese ‘Bomb’ Maker Arrested

 

Phnom Penh: CMAC officers have gone to a property at 11.20 AM after reports of a Chinese man making explosives. The area is reported to have been evacuated for public safety.

Police were called to the Chinese owned business located in Chom Chao 1 commune, Por Sen Chey district, Phnom Penh at around 9 am on May 1 after being informed a Chinese man was carrying bombs.

At least one Chinese man was taken away for questioning. Updates to follow.

UPDATE: It appears the ‘bomb’ was a fake.

The suspect police arrested Liu Jin, 39, made the device using sand as a hoax to intimidate the property owners after a dispute.
