The Curious Immigration Case of Edward Llewellyn Clifford

Phnom Penh: According to various local news sites, a South African man was arrested by police on April 24, 2019 at 2:10 pm at 6Bed Guesthouse, Street 57, Boeung Keng Kang 1, Khan Chamkar Morn for over staying his visa.

Police say South African EDWARD LLEWELLYN CLIFFORD, a 55-year-old South African was sent to the General Department of Immigration to carry out legal proceedings.

What is strange is that the same man, with the same name was picked up by police on April 1 for the same offence, and even pictured (in purple) at Ponchentong Immigration holding centre.

To make things even stranger, the day before his original arrest CNE was contacted asking if we knew whether Mr. Clifford had died in the street and was this man.

How did the South African get out of the charges the first time? Welcome to the Kingdom of Wonder!
