Vietnam Promises Electricity Gift for New Year

Phnom Penh: On the occasion of the Khmer New Year, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to add 200 to 250 megawatts of electricity to Cambodia.

This is for Cambodians to use during the Lunar New Year.

In addition to expressing wishes, the Vietnamese Prime Minister also discussed the relations, cooperation and trade volume between the two countries to increase investment.

This fast-delivery decision is a good and happy news for Cambodians suffering from a lack of electricity at home during the national festivals.

Currently, Cambodia is experiencing a shortage of 400 megawatts in the dry season because of a shortage of water but, according to Electricite du Cambodge, it will return to normal by the end of May.
