Police Major Questioned Over Gun Incident

PHNOM PENH: A police force major has been taken into custody after he pulling out a gun during a petty quarrel.

The incident occurred at 1:30 pm on April 9, 2019, in Chroy Changva Commune.

Police say that suspect is Yuan Phally, a 54-year-old police officer and deputy director of the Kandal Provincial Training Center, while the victim, Choung Kim Sea, 33, a Traffic Police Officer of Phnom Penh.

According to witnesses on the scene, the suspect was not driving carefully. The victim told the suspect this, and a heated argument ensued.

The suspect pulled out a gun, which he used to threaten the victim.

According to the source, after the incident, the victim also called the Chrouy Changva police station to immediately intercept the suspect.

Currently, all parties are being questioned at the Chroy Changvar Inspectorate.
