Phnom Penh: According to a report from the Department of Traffic Police and Public Order of the National Police, between 7-8 April, national road accidents caused 9 deaths and and 19 serious injuries from 17 separate incidents.
In the eight days of April, traffic accidents killed a total of 52 people and injured 129 in 98 cases.
Accidents are likely to increase over the forthcoming Khmer New Year holiday, as more people travel, there is more drink driving and many vehicles are even more overloaded than usual.
