KTV Guard Arsonist Torches Lexus

Kampong Cham: On April 6, 2019, at 01:30 AM, people reported a car on fire in Sangkat Veal Vong, Kompong Cham Province.

The owner of the Lexus 300, named Sok Sothea, 20, heard a loud explosion at about 1.10 and saw the car alight. With help from neighbours, the blaze was put out, but there was subsatntial damage.

After receiving the information, police came to the scene to investigate and check the security camera. There was a suspect on a bicycle caught on film crossing the scene before the fire.

On April 7, 2019, a suspect was arrested and found with with a bottle of gasoline.

The suspect, Heng Yuura, 33, a security guard at a KTV was taken to the Kampong Cham provincial inspectorate for questioning.

According to the suspect’s confession, on the night of April 5, 2019, at about 1 o’clock in the morning as he was under the Kizuna bridge when he was hit by the car. On the night of April 6, 2019, he saw the same vehicle parked in front of the house, bought gasoline to burn it, and escaped on his bicycle.

The suspects is now detained and a case is being prepared for court.
