Road Deaths Soar in March

According to the report of the Traffic Police and Public Order Department, traffic accidents across the country from March 1 to March 31, saw 203 deaths, 317 serious and 198 light injuries.

Of the 203 deaths (30 women), 146 (72%) were motorcyclists.

There were accidents reported involving 170 motorcycles, 132 cars, 59 trucks and 16 other vehicles.

At least 5 fatalities were foreign nationals, including 2 Finnish men, and 3 Chinese nationals.

Phnom Penh and Kampong Speu province saw the highest number of road accidents and deaths, with National Road 4 being the mist dangerous highway in the kingdom.
