Drug Driving Killer Sent to Prey Sar

 

Phnom Penh: Judge Yan Saroeun, the investigating judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on March 31, placed a driver in detention after a car crashed into a Phnom Penh party, causing three deaths and six injuries.

The detention was based on allegations from Mr. HONG Bunthen, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, who accused the suspect of dangerous driving, neglectful driving, causing death and driving under the influence of addictive substances on Street 324, Sangkat Beong Salang, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, March 28.

The above crimes are stipulated in the provisions of Articles 83 and 85 of the Law on Road Traffic and Article 63 of the Law On drug control. Of the above three crimes, the total sentence of imprisonment can be up to 10 years in prison, plus compensation to the victims.

The suspect is a 33-year-old man who sells charcoal.

A 60 year old woman and 42-year man died at the scene of the crash. A 3-year-old died at Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.
