Bus Full of Chinese Tourists Crashes in Siem Reap

Siem Reap: A passenger bus crashed off the road, causing some passengers to suffer minor injuries, while the driver escaped.

The accident occurred at 15:40 on the 29th March 2019 on National Road No. 6 in front of the entrance to Beng Village located in Thnal Tats Village, Kouk Krom Commune, Chikreng District, Siem Reap Province.

Colonel Sok Sothavuth, Chi Kreng District Inspector, said that the KIA 3D-9126 had 34 Chinese passengers on board. The bus crashed when trying to overtake another vehicle, leaving the road and hitting some trees. A 52-year-old male Chinese was taken to hospital by ambulance.

After the incident, police arrived at the scene to check and measure and took the bus to the Provincial Police Inspectorate to handle legalities.

Police are now trying to identify the missing driver.
