Public Bus Service For Siem Reap

Siem Reap: Temple Town will have public buses as Siem Reap authorities are preparing a bus line to respond to tourism growth and plan to reduce traffic congestion in the city.

Mung Chhun Heng, director of the Public Transport Department of Siem Reap, said at a meeting on the study and observing the feasibility of the public transport system on March 29, 2019, that, due to the growing number of visitors and increasing traffic problems, the bus service is necessary and viable.

The city will receive a grant from Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction and The Asian Development Bank to implement the plan.

The new service is hoped to provide a functioning transport system for locals and tourists and reduce the pollution and congestion from cars and other motor vehicles.
