More Waste Issues in Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville: City officials say that there is a lot of garbage in most of the city, and that the authorities are not ignoring it.

According to the same official,the garbage collection company KSWM claim that this is due to a lack of workers.

Some unofficial sources say as many as 25 workers, including drivers, have quit, citing the current work and living climate in Sihanoukville.

However, KSWM said that it is seeking more workers from other provinces to fill the gap, in an effort to carry out contractual obligations.

Officials appealed to all citizens to seal and store garbage bags correctly, collect garbage and try to help speed up garbage collection activities in the city.
