Former Boyfriend Arrested Over Kandal Teen’s Murder

Kandal: A suspect has been arrested over the murder of 19-year-old Srey Leap in Kandal, whose body was discovered on 8 March 2019. The man was detained by police on March 21, 2019.

The suspect, Aun Oeun, 18, lives in the area and is a farmer and part time labourer.

Police said that the victim and the suspect previously dated, but had split up.

On March 7, 2019, at 6pm, the suspect met the girl while out. He confessed they talked for a while and the suspect asked her for sex, but the victim refused.

Angry, he took a wooden board and farming tool and beat her over the head from behind.

The suspect has now been charged with murder.
