Kith Thieng Sent to Court

Phnom Penh: Local news reports that on the morning of March 12, 2019, Oknha Kith Thieng was sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further questioning over his involvement with the Rock Entertainment Center, following a police raid which netted 50kg of illegal drugs.

The tycoon was taken from his home in Toul Kork at 6 pm on March 11 for questioning at the Phnom Penh Police Commission headquarters.

A rticle 44, Paragraph 2, of The Law on Controlling Drugs 2012 stipulates that the rental, allowing aplace or other act that makes it easier for illegal use of narcotics is to facilitate the illicit use of narcotics. Punishment can be from 5 to 10 years and fines from 10 million to 20 million Riels.
