On 09 March 2019, the Department of Immigration expelled 20 foreign nationals from the country and blacklisted them for the next 3 years.
Lieutenant General Ouk Hai Seila, head of the Department of Procedures for Investigation and Procedure, said that the 20 expelled foreign nationals were six men and 14 women; 13 Chinese women involved in illegal sex worker in Preah Sihanouk province and drug use cases. an Indian without a visa, 2 Filipinos women without visas, a Sri Lankan using fake documents, an Indonesian national illegally residing without a passport, and an American with mental health issues.
The department director added that, besides being deported, Cambodian authorities have banned them from re-entry for 3 years.
