US Gives $2 Million to Mine Clearance Organization

The United States has provided US $2 million to CMAC for demining operations in Cambodia, according to Heng Ratana, Director General of CMAC on March 5, 2019.

De-mining teams from the US State Department also visited the activities of CMAC in the province of Tbong Khmum.

The US government has decided to provide $ 2 million for CMAC over a 12-month period (March 01, 2019 – 28 February, 2020).

In 2018, CMAC received US $ 1.6 million in aid from the United States to clear cluster munitions. From March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019, over 2,200 hectares of land were cleared in eastern Cambodia.
