Kampong Speu Quarry Companies Have Licenses Suspended

Phnom Penh: According to The Ministry of Mines and Energy on March 5, 2019, the Deputy General Director of the General Department of Mineral Resources, led the Ministry of Mines and Energy Inspectorate Working Group to monitor the activities of mining, quarrying and sand exploitation in Phnom Sruoch district, Kampong Speu province.

Six stone quarrying companies and sand extraction companies did not comply with the rules of the Ministry regarding mineral exploitation.

The Ministry then suspended the licenses on March 4, 2019. The action came a week after a meeting between such businesses and the provincial administration, setting the compliance guide and issuing regulations.
