Phnom Penh: A 27-kg female python was caught in Choam Chao 2 commune, Pursat Chey district at 8:30 pm on March 4, 2019.
According to residents, said the snake was spotted in an area near the village where there are still rice fields and ponds.
However, to preserve and conserve wildlife, it will be sent to live in a safer place more suitable for wildlife.
According to Ouy Sam Oeun, a 46-year-old resident of Chom Chao 2, the serpent was over 3 meters in length and weighs 27 kilograms. It was found by local people when it was pulled out of the field, but the village chief took it to safety to avoid it falling into the hands of wildlife traders.
