Rubbish Fire Sends Artillery Shell Through Guesthouse Roof

Pailin: On 01 March 2019, an 130mm artillery shell exploded near Prum Market, Pailin province.

A local villager was cleaning up rubbish and made a bonfire, unaware that the 130mm artillery shell was hidden underground.

The explosion caused fragments to fly around 400m from the site a large piece of shrapnel went through the roof of a guesthouse and landed in a bedroom.

It was very fortunate that nobody was injured in the incident.
