Chinese Condo Con Couple in Court
Phnom Penh: A Chinese husband and wife involved in a $ 5 million property fraud were sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on March 1, 2019.
The two Chinese nationals, CHEN DAOMIN, 57, and LIN XUEFANG, 50 years old, were arrested by police from the Criminal Division of The Interior Ministry on Feb. 28 in Phnom Penh, according to the source.
The case comes after an investor in China made a complaint that he had been defrauded by the couple over a property deal in Cambodia.
Police say the man has spent nearly $ 5 million to buy a condo Phnom Penh, with a value of up to $ 30 million, but claims the pair used false business practices.
The two suspects have denied involvement and pleaded for bail.
