Taiwanese and Chinese Given Life for Drug Imports

Phnom Penh: Judge Seng Rithy, of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and Topchun Long, a prosecutor, announced the verdict of two Chinese nationals on the afternoon of March 1, 2019. Two accused were imprisoned for life and fined 60 million riels for trafficking of drugs.

The first defendant. Lai Kuan Yu, a 24-year-old Taiwanese and Lin Chen Chia, a 29-year-old Chinese man were arrested on July 10, 2018 at the Post Office of Cambodia Post in Wat Phnom,

The two were detained while waiting to receive drugs from Germany. Police seized 1008.37 grams of MDMA in closed containers. CAMPOST
