February Road Deaths Up 12.5%

Phnom Penh: The monthly report from the Department of Police, Traffic Police and Public Order of the National Police Commissariat stated that over the 28 days of February car accidents have killed 162 people and injured 560 in 362 reported cases. This is an increase of 12.5%, not counting the 3 fewer days in the month.

Chinese New Year is a major factor in the numbers of road accidents and fatalities.

The January report stated that a total of 144 people were killed and 509 wounded from 322 reported accidents over 31 days where there were casualties.
