34 Cambodians Denied Thai Entry Over Terror Link Fears

Battambang: Thailand sent 34 Cambodians back to Battambang province on 25 February 2019 after they were detained by Thai immigration police in Chon Buri province.

Thai immigration authorities said the group were not allowed to enter the country, as, although they said they were planning to travel to Malaysia.

The 34, believed to be Cham Muslims, were stopped over possible links to terrorism and insecurity in southern Thailand.

Cambodian authorities stated they did not prohibit travel abroad, but the ban on entering Thailand was a matter for Thai authorities.
