Rare Birds Found Nesting in Preah Vihear

According to Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), Cambodia found the first nesting pair of Asian or masked finfoot in Preah Vihear province in four years.

The water birds have been discovered by conservationists from the Ministry of Environment and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and local community in the sanctuary of Kulen Pursat, Preah Vihear province.

There are only between 1,000-2,500 of these secretive birds across southern and southeast Asia.

 
The habit range stretches across Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Kohsantepheap
