Poipet: Thailand has reportedly prevented Khmer-Muslims from entering the country because of insecurity in the southern provinces.
On Feb. 12, 2019, three Khmer-Muslim men were denied entry by Thai immigration officials at the Poipet border crossing, citing fears over terrorism and insecurity in southern Thailand.
Cambodian authorities said they did not prohibit their travel abroad, but the ban on entering Thailand was a matter for the Thai authorities.
This entry denial comes on the same day that 8 Cambodian Muslims were deported from Thailand via Poipet after being detained in the restive southern Thai province of Pattani.
