Husband Shoots New Wife, Then Himself

Preah Vihear: A horrific incident occurred around 6 pm on February 3, 2019 in Tek Chum, Chorm Ksan district, Preah Vihear province. Domestic violence caused by jealous anger has resulted in the death a newly married couples.

A 32 year old soldier, shot his wife, named as Uy Sokdum, 16, with an AK-47, and shortly after shot himself in the head.

It is reported that the couple had only been married for 5 days. Police investigated the scene and concluded that it was a case of murder-suicide and handed both bodies over to the families.
