Rising Mekong Floods Bamboo Bridge

Kampong Cham: On the afternoon of January 21, 2019, HE Kuch Chamroeun, the governor of the Kampong Cham province, visited the famous bamboo bridge at Koh Pen. Heavy rainfall further upstream has caused the Mekong’s water level to rise, putting the bridge at risk.

According to the Department of Water Resources, the water will recede in about one week.

HE Governor ordered experts to repair the bridge before Chinese New Year, so the attraction will be open to visitors. http://www.phnompenhreporter.com/article/54176
