Cluster Bombs Unearthed in Tbong Khmom
(Tbong Khmom): Heng Ratana, director of the Cambodian Mine Action Center told journalists on January 21, 2019 that a MAG unit found 132 cluster bombs dropped by the US on the area during the Vietnam war.
“These are cluster munitions that are about 2 meters in length” Heng Ratana said. They were uncovered on 21 January 2019 in the province of Tbong Khmum . “
He said that careful and ordered digging was undertaken to unearth them. Tens of millions of tons of bombs were dropped on Cambodia during the 1960’s and 70’s.
