54 Chinese Arrested in Gambling Raid

Phnom Penh: The General Department of Immigration have cooperated with local forces to crack down and arrest 54 Chinese nationals in Khan Toul Kork in connection with an illegal gambling syndicate.

The raid was conducted at about 2.30 on the afternoon of January 17, 2019. Local police raided locations at # 11 , Street 564 Sangkat Boeung Kok 1 after receiving information of an illegal online gambling operation.

54 people Chinese “spinach dogs*”, including 11 women were detained, along with computers, phones and other devices involved with criminal conduct.

The Chinese suspects  were sent to the General Department of Immigration to take legal action.
