Banteay Meanchey province: A Thai monk has been defrocked at a pagoda in the village of Bali Lei, Poipet, after being accused of being a false priest. The incident took place on the evening of January 13, 2019.
Somchart Choem-Choey, 47, was treated with suspicion after being spotted in a cafe on National Road 5. Inquiries from the Chief Abbot revealed he was just a regular citizen who was pretended to be an ordained man of orange.
