Sihanoukville SEZ Brings Jobs and Capital
According to a statement from the Council for the Development of Cambodia released on January 10, 2019, the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone has 161 companies with registered capital of about $918 million US and a labor force of 22,495. .
Products manufactured at factories in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone include: electronics, electric wire, tires, auto parts, frames, TVs, Bathroom Accessories Waterproofing Materials Paddle Board & Board Material Office Souvenirs, Equipment, Sport, Clothing, Shoes, Bags and Luggage.
In the year 2018, exports from the SEZ were estimated at US $ 372 million, up 68% compared with 2017.
Please note that the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone was established by Sub-decree No. 24, Dated 17 March 2008 on an area of 1113 hectares. The economic zone is located in Preah Sihanouk province’s Prey Nob district, about 13 kilometers from the port of Sihanoukville.
