Cambodia mobile base grows 4% in year to November to 19.3 mln

The number of registered SIM cards in Cambodia reached 19.3 million in November, an increase of 3.9 percent compared with the same period in 2017, according to data from the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) reported by the Phnom Penh Post. The number is equivalent to 120.11 percent of Cambodia’s total population of more than 16 million.
The report shows that mobile internet usage also showed strong growth, with 12.9 million subscribers using their mobile phones to go online, an increase of 22.8 percent year-on-year. A total of 34 operators provided fixed internet to 147,596 users, up 9.2 percent, while the number of fixed telephony lines fell 27.5 percent to 91,331.
