Stop the Bus!

Phnom Penh: A drunk driver rammed a passenger bus from Capitol along Street 598, in Boeung Kok II, Khan Toul Kork.

The incident happened at 11:20 pm on January 9, 2019 in front of the nearby bus terminal, and Ly Hour Along Street 598 located in Toul Sangke II, Khan Russei Keo. 

According to a source close to the incident, one man was driving a Highlander “Phnom Penh 2AQ-2034” in a drunken state, when he pulled in front of the bus without looking.

After the incident, the car tried to escape from the scene. Capitol Company staff managed to stop the car, but the driver at first refused to get out.

After that, the local police force came to intervene to convince the driver to come out. 

At first he denied any knowledge of the accident, but about an hour later apologised. As damage to the bus was minimal, the matter was resolved.
