Foreigners Arrested in Poipet Clampdown

Banteay Meanchey: Authorities in Poipet cracked down on two online gaming sites in “GOOD LUCK” on the morning of January 2 2019.

Eight Thais and Indonesians were arrested and evidence of illegal online gaming operations was seized.

The arrested had working visa, but no work permit and were sent to the police inspectorate of Poipet.

Reports said that in Poipet, there were foreigners living and working in online gambling and also taking drugs.
At least one of the foreigners tested positive for drug use.

Poipet authorities are currently clamping down on illegal activity in the border town.
