Man Faked Chinese Gangsters for Adsense Earnings

 

Siem Reap: Police arrested a man over suspicion of posting “fake news” on social media.

28-year-old Eang Hum, 28, from Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, was taken into custody on December 15, 2018, in connection with a faked video of armed Chinese men posted on Facebook.

The Anti-Tech Crime Department are questioning the suspect

The suspect allegedly used video from a Hong Kong Chinese drama, and dubbed with Khmer. He commented “It is really unusual !! Seeing his own eyes, brothers from China fight each other, control each other in Khmer land. “

The motive is reported to have been in order to attract more likes, shares and views to earn more money fromFacebook and Google Adsense.

Phones, one computer, two laptops and some internet networking equipment were taken as evidence.

Currently, the police are investigating cases and sending the suspect to court.
