“Sorry” Over Meanchey Shooting

Phnom Penh: Apologies have been made after the Dangkor District police opened fire on a military officer of the bodyguard unit, and the child of a three-star general on December 4.

On December 7, 2018, Cheam Sitha, inspector of Dangkor District, visited the shot man in hospital.

The victim, a military officer at the police headquarters, was shot the right thigh and is being treated in Calmette Hospital.

The victim claimed that he did not fire at police, and had immediately wanted to tell that he was also a cop, but they did not listen.

The victim’s family will file charges against police to bring the perpetrators for punishment according to law.
