Small Planet Airlines Bites the Dust
Siem Reap: Almost a year to the day that first flights began from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the Cambodian subsidiary of Lithuanian airline Small Planet has ceased operations.
Staff complain they have not been paid for over 6 weeks, and two Airbus A320-200s remain parked on the tarmac in Siem Reap. The company has told employees, that while the European side of the operation has been greatly reduced, they are hoping for an investor to step in and save the Cambodian business.
Further details are currently unknown, as the company refuses to comment.
*Source, an employee from the company, and an article published in German media over a week ago, but strangely nothing (that we have seen) in the local press.
