Shot Man is Innocent Cop, Say Family

The family of a man shot by police  at 3 pm on December 4, 2018, in Meanchey 3 district, have asked for an investigation of the case to be carried out.

According to the family’s comments, the injured man, El Sil Sopheak, was a police officer, and that the gun he possessed had a legal permit. They also say that the shot officer was not doing anything illegal, and cops were too quick to open fire. Experts are conducting further research to find out the exact cause of the shooting.

TVFB could not ask for clarification from the victim, as he is still undergoing surgery at Calmette Hospital. TVFB will wait for further clarification from both the police and the injured party.
