Phnom Penh: A 40 -year-old man who was drunk caused traffic congestion when he fell asleep at the wheel of his Toyota at 4:30 pm on December 3, 2018, on Mao Tse Tung Street in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Chamkarmon.
Traffic police couldn’t rouse the driver, and were forced to push the car off the road to free the highway for traffic.
Sources say the car was stopped at the traffic lights, but when it was time to move, the vehicle remained stationary. Police looked and found the man asleep, and after trying to wake him, had no other option than to push the car to one side. He was suspected of being so drunk, he had passed out at the lights.
The wife of the man was contacted, and she arrived shortly afterwards to take her napping husband and the car back home.
