Phnom Penh: A pontoon ship sank into the river as workers were dismantling a decorative wall after the Royal Water Festival, which ended three days ago.
The incident caused surprise at 11:10 am on November 26, 2018, on the western bank of the river Chaktomuk, located in Chey Chumneas district, Daun Penh district.
Before the sinking, two or three workers were removing the decorations, when the vessel capsized, according to the source.
Authorities said the boat belonged to the Ministry of Justice and had taken part in the festivities.
After the incident, authorities came to inspect and, together with a team of experts plan to re-float the stricken ship.
