Ferry on the Mekong Sinks
Kampong Chhnang: At 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018, there was a case of a ferry sinking east of the sandbank off Kandal village, Phsar Chhnang town. Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Chhnang Province.
The boat (Mekong-Don) has a size of 20,5 × 8,2- and a depth of 2,7 metres. 55 employees work on the vessel.
The boat had stopped for the night, when it began to take on water and sink.
The reason was given was due to damage to the bilge pumps. Nobody was injured in the incident.
