Phnom Penh: The report says that at about 5:20 am, on November 6, the Police Department of Economic Crimes, in cooperation with Camcontrol Department confiscated an illegal import meat from Vietnam.
A Hyundai truck, license plate number 3E-5868, was stopped at Chea Sophara road, Sangkat Tuol Sangke, Khan Russei Keo. Phnom Penh, for inspection checks, and about two and a half tons of quails were discovered inside.
After reviewing and discovering that the goods were imported illegally and that the type of meat was defective, the Deputy Prosecutor decided to burn the lot.
The foul fowl were later torched at theChoeung Ek dump site in Dangkor District, Phnom Penh.
The truck was impounded and the driver involved was brought to the department for questioning.
