Indigenous Villagers Stopped Cutting Forest

Mondulkiri province: Environmental experts along with state forces launched an operation to prohibit illegal land grabbing on the afternoon of October 23, 2018 in Putuet village, Buos commune, Pichida district. 20 villagers were found to be cutting to claim the land.

After forestry officials explained the law to them, they stopped work. Later five representatives of the indigenous community met at the park offices and agreed to follow the law and wait for official permission before working in the forests.
